Community Spotlight

Mist Mountain Resort

Ms. Neema Velasco shared a heartwarming family legacy. Here’s what she said:

“About 25 years ago, my dad purchased the property in Taptap, which nobody really wanted. It was considered a degraded watershed…

I always love sharing this story because it just shows how much you can transform a piece of property by planting all these trees. So this resort is really my dad's legacy project.”

04 DENR Compliance Pro Tips

Reporting Is Not Optional — It’s Continuous. Compliance doesn’t end after permits are issued.

Active Monitoring: Companies must move from a "one-and-done" permit mindset to continuous tracking of environmental impact, which often involves real-time monitoring and regular audits.

Mandatory Reporting (SMR & CMR): In the Philippines, businesses with an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) must submit regular reports, typically including:

  • Quarterly Self-Monitoring Reports (SMR): Submitted by a designated Pollution Control Officer (PCO) to detail compliance with air emission, wastewater quality, and hazardous waste standards.
  • Semi-Annual Compliance Monitoring Reports (CMR): Documenting adherence to specific ECC conditions and the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
